The Luther Crest campus master plan is a phased repositioning project with the majority of the work implemented over six years. Twenty year old common areas and apartments have been upgraded and, in some cases, apartments combined, to meet the demands of the current market. The Luther Crest community has also expanded their market offer with a New Urbanist cottage neighborhood that places services and parking off rear alleys and creates a street with sidewalks, planting strips and street trees as a public space for pedestrians and front porch community life. Additionally, a wellness center upgrade and addition located at the front entry to the community both strengthens the formerly nondescript entry and presents a wellness philosophy of life at Luther Crest. Also included in the master plan are new independent living apartments and a complete renovation and expansion of assisted living, memory support and nursing from a medical model to a residential model.
