Rydal Park
Master Plan

Rydal Park is a successful, 57-acre, CCRC campus in suburban Philadelphia that proactively sought to reposition their community to meet future market expectations. Through an interactive team process, SCA created a plan that enhances the quality of life at all levels of the continuum, broadens the offer to the market, connects residents to the larger community and effectively responds to market demands and the owner’s mission and vision. The concept of connectivity became an important driver of the master plan and was expressed in many ways, particularly at the repositioned front entry where the new “gateway” pavilion and covered accessible ramp have made a physical and figurative connection to the local community. The idea of connection is further reinforced by the use of indigenous stone and stucco to ground the building to the region and site, and, to add texture, detail and scale and to seamlessly join the expansion and renovated façade.
