Upon completion of the Medical Center Addition and the relocation of nursing residents, the existing three floors of nursing were renovated to two floors of personal care and a penthouse floor of personal care memory support. The personal care renovation includes spacious new, one-bedroom apartments up to 680 square feet and a centralized common area on both floors that will provide residents with views to the adjacent mixed-use area. Services are discreetly delivered, without violating resident living space, into the core of the living spaces which includes a service pantry and residential kitchen opening to a light-filled dining area with large expanses of glass giving interesting views of activity at the main entrance and adjacent shopping area. Additionally, the central common area received a facelift of the exterior façade which extends along the base of the existing building, tying into the new medical center and unifying the elevations. The exterior improvements also extend to the existing porte-cochere and include a covered handicap ramp that appropriately frames the threshold between Rydal Park and the adjacent shopping center.
