Size:

80 Acres

Scope:

Messiah Lifeways at Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg, PA, is a beautifully landscaped, suburban CRCC campus which offers gracious residential living, enhanced living, and nursing care for 700 residents; as well as, thriving outreach programs to the surrounding community. True to their mission to “enhance the lives of older adults with a spectrum of healthcare, housing, and community services that offers opportunities for spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, and social well-being”, Messiah Lifeways addressed the need to expand the Messiah Village campus in a way that builds the sense of community and reflects the small town feel of the local Pennsylvania countryside.  In response, SCA has created a campus master plan that provides the needed program space while strengthening the sense of community through a “Village Square” addition with the scale and qualities of a small town Pennsylvania Main Street. The welcoming Village Square is located at the front of the campus with easy access for both residents and members of the community at large to come together and enjoy the Messiah Lifeways wellness and life-long learning programs, as well as, an expanded bistro dining venue. The bistro dining with outdoor café seating is placed at a prominent, active corner where Main Street turns and proceeds under a covered bridge which creates an implied threshold to the more private areas of the campus.
